The Federal University of Piauí, in the scope of international affairs, is a member of the following associations.

 

Brazilian Association for International Education

The Brazilian Association for International Education (FAUBAI) was established in 1988 and brings together international affairs advisors of Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). It promotes integration and training of area managers, through workshops, regional, national and international meetings and the Annual Conference. It also works to disseminate potentialities and diversity of Brazilian HEIs, locally and abroad, with HEIs, diplomatic representations, organizations and international programmes.

International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities

The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) is a non-profit, academic, scientific and cultural association of civil society. Established on October 29, 2008, in the Capital city of Brasília – Distrito Federal, under the name Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities. This name was formally changed on October 30, 2020, at its Extraordinary Assembly. Today it comprises 88 Brazilian Universities, UFPI included.

Board of Directors of International Affairs (CGRIFES)

The Board of Directors of International Affairs of the Federal Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) aims to advise the National Association of Directors of Higher Education Institutions in building up national policies for international academic cooperation.

One of the  core concerns of the German-Brazilian strategic partnership is the further expansion of cooperation on bilateral and multilateral issues. The cooperation is multifaceted and covers topics such as energy, environment, climate, science, economy and trade, defence, labour and social affairs as well as cooperation in the framework of the United Nations (UN), and in the field of human rights. One special area is on science and technology, where the potential for synergies is especially strong.
